Often when planning a wedding the first question on peoples minds is the most obvious one..."How much will the disc jockey cost?"  This is why we've decided to start with the most asked question.  Below is a table to work out our most common pricing schedules.  Call us if you have any questions about how it works.

This table is used to calculate costs based on the number of hours used.  Just line up the amount of dinner music hours (top row) with the number of dance music hours (viewed from the left side) and the cost can be seen where the two intersect.  These costs do not include any of the available extras (see bottom of page) or taxes or travel costs if applicable. Our disc jockeys carry a full assortment of music dating from the 1940's up to the most current hits.  Our music lists are kept up to date and each of our disc jockeys will have a request book listing all of the music that they carry.

Only our senior DJ's achieve the privilege of performing at weddings.  There are so many intricate details that a disc jockey must know fully before he or she is permitted to come to your wedding.  First they must be fully qualified and meet all of our expectations as a disc jockey then they are individually selected for training targeted specifically at weddings.  None of our DJ's shall perform at a wedding until all of our wedding criteria has been met.  We want our customers to know that they can have confidence that their perfect day is being handled by the professionals at Magic Star Music Systems and it is the needs of our customers that we put first.

When hiring a DJ for a wedding, there are a few questions that you should ask yourself.  These are the same questions that the Disc Jockey company should ask you or should be able to answer without saying "I'll get back to you" or "I'm not sure":

  1. Have you picked a first song?
  2. Who will dance to that song?
  3. Do you require a special second dance?
  4. Who would be dancing to the second dance?
  5. Will you be needing a special 3rd, 4th song etc?
  6. Who would be dancing to these songs?
  7. What time would you like the DJ to arrive?
  8. Do you have any special requests of how the DJ should dress?
  9. What kind of background music or dinner music would you like to have played?
  10. What is the background or experience of the DJ?
  11. How long have they been with the company?
  12. What will the company do if the DJ becomes ill on the day of the wedding?  Is there a backup person ready?
  13. Does the company have policies and procedures in place for training and quality assurance purposes?
  14. Ask the DJ company to provide you with references.
  15. What is the company's Privacy Policy?
  16. Do you require music to be played for the wedding ceremony itself?

If you are not totally satisfied with the answers to these few sample questions then you should consider going to a different company.  If you are satisfied with the answers and the price seems appropriate then you've obviously booked Magic Star and we'll be seeing you at the wedding.
